The Long Home
Red Carpet
Experience

What to Expect on Installation Day

Letting a crew into your home is an act of trust. "When your name is on the company, every job is personal," says Katie Long DePaola, Long Home spokesperson and fourth-generation member of the Long family. "That's been true since my family started this business over three generations ago." The Long Home Red Carpet process is how we put that commitment into practice on every job. Here's what that looks like.

From the Moment We Arrive

Every Long Home installer, project manager, and service technician arrives in a company-identified vehicle, wearing a Long Home uniform. When they arrive, your crew leader will introduce themselves and the team before any work begins. We'll ask permission before placing a Long Home yard sign on your lawn or a banner on your house.

How We Protect Your Home

Roofing Installations

  • A Long Home vinyl banner is hung from the home at the start of every job
  • Tarps cover outdoor items — grills, patio furniture, anything in the work area
  • Plant-safe vinyl mesh tarps protect shrubs and flower beds from debris
  • Shoe covers are worn any time we enter your home
  • At the end of every job, a magnetic sweeper covers the yard to find and remove any stray nails or screws

Bath Installations

  • Shoe covers are worn throughout the job — no exceptions
  • Long Home logo drop cloths run from the front door to the bathroom before work begins
  • Air returns and vents are covered to contain dust
  • Vacuum attachments on tools capture dust at the source
  • For larger tear-outs, the bathroom is sealed with plastic sheeting to keep dust confined to the work area
  • A shop vac is on site for cleanup throughout and before final install begins

How We Wrap Up

"We want every customer to feel taken care of - from the minute we pull up to the minute we leave" — Katie Long DePaola. Cleanup is part of the job. Before your crew leaves, all debris is bagged and removed from your property. Tools and materials are cleared. A final walkthrough confirms the work is complete and your home is as clean as we found it. Then - while the crew is still on site - your crew leader calls the project manager and puts you on the phone. You review the finished project together before anyone leaves. If something isn't right, we know about it immediately and handle it on the spot.

On Time, Every Time

Our crews are expected to arrive when scheduled. On the rare occasion something changes, your production manager contacts you directly.
